April 7 (UPI) -- A thirsty cat wandered onto the set of an interview with the mayor of Latvia to drink from the politician's mug.

Nils Usakovs, mayor of Latvia's capital city of Riga, paused in the middle of the interview and stared lovingly at the bold feline as it walked along a table and began to drink from the mayor's mug.

"Anything can happen, when in the office of the masters of cats," Usakovs wrote on his Facebook page.

Usakovs tried to pet the cat and resumed his interview after the cat became startled and jumped off the table.

The black cat that interrupted Usakovs' interview is one of two, named Kuzya and Muris, who live in the town hall building in Riga.
