April 5 (UPI) -- Police in Canada tranquilized and captured a loose moose seen wandering around a Nova Scotia neighborhood.

New Glasgow Police shared photos of the moose after residents reported multiple sightings Monday morning.

Dave Steeves of the Department of Natural Resources told the CBC the moose was "just hanging around a residential area" and seemed comfortable.

"He's very docile, just roaming through two or three back yards back and forth and having some breakfast on a few of the bushes," he said. "We're observing from a safe distance."

Officers later decided to shut down the nearby Chestnut Street to traffic and pedestrians as they pursued the moose through the neighborhood.

The moose was eventually tranquilized about four hours after the initial reports as officers moved it to a safer location.
