April 5 (UPI) -- Police in Canada used multiple puns to inform citizens of the theft of tens of thousands of dollars worth of lettuce.

The Hamilton Police Department urged citizens to "romaine calm" after a large truck containing $45,000 worth of lettuce was stolen.

"The suspect(s) drove the truck into the city of Toronto leaving the truck behind, which has been recovered but the suspect(s) transported the trailer with the lettuce inside to an unknown location," police said.

Hamilton police shared a tongue in cheek post on social media requesting "'lettuce'" work together to find the person or people behind the theft.

"Your information could be the tip of the iceberg and uncover a major theft ring," police wrote.
