April 4 (UPI) -- An Office fan was inspired to use a teapot to ask a girl to prom last week.

Jenna Fischer, who played Pam Beesly on the NBC series, congratulated Texas high school student Davis Looney after he channeled Pam's love interest, Jim Halpert (John Krasinski), to ask his girlfriend to prom.

"Well done!" the 43-year-old actress wrote in response to Looney's tweet about his "promposal."

Jim gave Pam a teapot filled with their inside jokes and a letter sharing his true feelings in Season 2 of The Office, although he took the letter back. The characters ultimately married and welcomed two children, Cecelia and Philip.

"Creds to Jim Halpert for the #promposal idea @camcanton_ @johnkrasinski @jennafischer," Looney captioned a photo of his "promposal" on Twitter.

Looney dressed up as Jim and surprised his girlfriend, Cameron, with the teapot at school. He told Buzzfeed he and his girlfriend are big fans of The Office, and that Jim and Pam's relationship is their favorite part of the show.

"Jim was always so creative and clever with his gifts to Pam. I was inspired by his gift to her in the 'Christmas Party' episode, and decided to do the same sort of thing with Cameron in the form of a promposal," the teenager explained.
