Twitter user @BrionnaLondon posted a video captured from Snapchat Monday night showing a man walking down Birchcrest Drive, near the Detroit Golf Club, with a kangaroo on a leash. Advertisement The man appears to be trying to walk the animal like a dog, but ends up being pulled along by the marsupial as it hops down the sidewalk. "G how he get a kangaroo in Detroit?" the Twitter user asked. The question was echoed by numerous replies to the tweet, some of which theorized the kangaroo was stolen from a local zoo. Detroit Zoo spokeswoman Patricia Janeway offered a different possibility. "Unfortunately, this kangaroo likely was acquired through the exotic pet trade," Janeway told CBS Detroit. "This is a good opportunity to remind your readers about the consequences of keeping an exotic animal as a pet. These animals require special care, housing, proper diet, healthcare and maintenance that the average person cannot provide."
