March 17 (UPI) -- Citizens of a town in Illinois were treated to a free drink after cases of beer fell off a delivery truck.

Multiple cases of Bud Light beer fell from the back of a Budweiser delivery truck on Thursday morning as it traveled through an intersection in Joliet at 11 a.m. on Thursday.

Passersby gathered in the area to collect the unbroken bottles as they continued to drop from the truck.

"Several citizens noticed and started helping themselves to the beer," Joliet Police Sgt. Patrick Cardwell told The Herald-News.

The driver was not cited, but employees at a nearby Burger King called police after witness began drinking the fallen beer in front of the restaurant.

Police said that no one was injured in the incident.
