March 16 (UPI) -- A man known as a "human water-fountain" broke a world record by spraying water out of his mouth for almost a minute.

Kirubel Yilma, a 21-year-old student from Ethopia, set a new Guinness World Record for "longest time to spray water from the mouth" by spraying water in a continuous stream for 56.36 seconds.

Yilma consumed several bottles of water before lifting his mouth into the air and emitting a continuous stream of water with no pause to break the record.

He said he was inspired to beat the previous record of 46.86 seconds after seeing former record holder Dickson Oppong on television.

Yilma is able to regurgitate water from his stomach and combined that ability with tricks he learned in school and months of practicing his breathing technique to claim the record.

"Additionally, I am a second-year medical student at Addis Ababa University so I have the knowledge of how to use my muscles effectively so as to break the record," he said.
