Tasmanian coast glows blue with bioluminescent algae

March 15 (UPI) -- A visitor to an Australian shore captured photos of the water glowing blue due to the presence of bioluminescent algae.

Leanne Marshall, a Tasmania photographer, posted photos to Instagram showing the unusual natural phenomenon she witnessed Monday night near Rocky Cape National Park.

The photos shows the water glowing with blue light from bioluminescent algae.

"To say I was excited to finally see some #bioluminescence was an understatement," she wrote.
