March 15 (UPI) -- A woman taking a rural highway to work in Canada's Northwest Territories captured video of two wolves running alongside her car.

Rhonda Miller said she was taking Highway 3 to her office in Edzo when she spotted something out of the corner of her vision that she initially thought was a man walking down the side of the road.

"I thought that was strange because you don't normally see people walking on the road that far out," Miller told CBC News.

She said it quickly became clear that the animal was not a human.

"I slowed down a bit and I got closer. I thought it was a bear, and I thought, it can't be a bear because it was the wrong time of year," she said.

Miller then spotted a second animal and realized what species she was dealing with -- black wolves.

"My body immediately became afraid," Miller said. "I was so struck by the size of their heads and their jaws."

Miller filmed as the wolves kept pace with her car and ultimately passed her. She posted her footage to Facebook.

"So many men have asked, how fast were they going? Had I been a man I may have looked. I don't know. I think between [25 and 30 mph]... it was fast," she said.
