"We looked out the side door and there was a pig on the hill. He's super friendly, he's very sweet, doesn't make too much noise, believe it or not," James told WWMT.
The pig, named Hamlet, escaped from his home and walked about a mile to the Home Depot store after nearly 60 mile per hour winds in the area tore down his fence.
James shared dog treats with Hamlet before fashioning a leash out of rope to walk the pig to her home where she contacted his owner.
"My only thought was it has to be a pet and I'd want someone to do the same for me," she said.
She eventually got a hold of Rachael Fairbotham who was happy to be reunited with her pet pig.
"I was happy, I almost cried when I finally saw him. I didn't think I would again," Fairbotham said.
