McNeill said she decided to take action personally Tuesday after she contacted the state Department of Natural Resources and they told her no one was available to help.
The video shows McNeill approach the skunk and pull on the glass jar, which is firmly lodged on the animal's head.
Her video missed the moment the jar finally came loose.
"I'm bummed I didn't get the jar actually popping off his head. It literally made a a sound. Lol. So happy this little skunk can continue on with his shenanigans!" she wrote.
The video ends with the skunk running off without spraying McNeill, an apparent sign of its gratitude.
