March 2 (UPI) -- A snake has taken up residence inside the engine of a Texas woman's SUV after wildlife officials were unable to remove it.
The 4-foot Western Rat snake slithered its way into Best Buy employee Valeria Montgomery's vehicle where it was spotted by a Pearland police officer.
Pearland police contacted the wildlife department to assist in removing the snake, but the department said they would not respond because the snake was in its natural habitat.
Officers ultimately decided to leave the snake alone in hopes that cooler temperatures and a more quiet atmosphere would encourage it to leave the vehicle.
