Metro Trains Melbourne spokesman Marcus Williams told 9News the video of the youths was "very concerning."
"We ask our passengers if they witness this type of irresponsible behavior to call Triple Zero or press the emergency button in train carriages and on platforms," Williams said.
He said Metro Trains and Victoria Police are working "very closely" to investigate the video.
New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority opened an investigation last month when a video captured by a commuter showed two teenagers pulling off a similar "subway surfing" stunt at the 149th Street-Grand Concourse Station in the Bronx.
