The Plaistow Police Department shared a photo of the gold men's wedding band found by a passerby in a local parking lot the day before Valentine's Day. Advertisement Good Samaritan Veronica Guzman spotted the ring with the inscription "2-14-87" in the parking lot of an AutoZone after buying a Valentine's Day gift for her husband. "I looked down because wind was in my face and I saw the ring," Guzman told NECN. "I was like, 'Oh, somebody must be feeling really bad right now,' because their anniversary is tomorrow." Guzman turned the ring in to police, whose Facebook post eventually reached the ring owner's daughter. The man proved his ownership by providing details about the inscription on the ring as well as a photo of the inscription on his wife's ring. He told police he removed the ring while attempting to fix an electrical issue with his car in the auto shop's parking lot. "He cannot thank [Guzman] enough, adding that it is easy to believe the worst this day and age, but deep down most people really are good people who will do the right thing," police said.
