Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Animal rescuers in Virginia helped save a "hefty" raccoon that found itself trapped in a small drain.

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington shared a photo of the trapped raccoon after officers were called to rescue the animal at a local school.

"On arrival, our officers found this rather hefty raccoon stuck in the drain, unable to wiggle his back-end out of the too-small space," the post said.

The officers used lubricant and a catch-pole to slide the sizable raccoon out of the tight spot.

"Thanks to our Animal Control Officers Solano, Torres, and Toussaint, this raccoon is un-stuck and safely back in the wild where he belongs!" The Animal Welfare League said.
