Feb. 15 (UPI) -- A Siberian husky at a Chinese veterinary hospital staged a "prison break" by escaping from its cage, freeing two other dogs, and trying to chew through a door.

Security camera footage from the animal hospital in Jiangsu Province shows the husky use its mouth to undo the latch on its cage and escape from confinement.

The footage shows the dog attempt to chew through the frame of the room's door, which the hospital said was locked and pass-code protected.

The dog, unsuccessful in breaking through the door, then frees two other dogs from their cages in an apparent plea for assistance.

"It is kind of difficult to open the cage even for human beings, as there is a little mechanism for unbolting the door. We've been in the industry for six, seven years, and there hasn't been any dog that has opened the cage this way," Cao Sheng, the owner of the facility, told CCTV News.

"We call the husky one of 'the three stupid sled dogs,' and it is the dumbest. Very few of them can open cages. The whole thing was totally unexpected," Cao said.

He said the husky has been moved to a more heavy-duty cage formerly occupied by a powerful Tibetan mastiff.
