Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Police in New Zealand helped free a hedgehog that was found wandering a local road with a yogurt cup on its head.

Officers shared video of the distressed hedgehog, which they discovered while out on patrol in Arrowtown, ramming into walls with the cup stuck on its head.

"Hedgehog located on Buckingham Street looking very drunk and walking into things. Discovered to have a yogurt pot stuck on his head," police said.

The hedgehog continued to wander about with the plastic cup stuck on its head until an officer managed to corner the animal and remove the piece of garbage.

Once the cup was removed, the officer advised the hedgehog to avoid rummaging through people's garbage and sent the animal on its way.

"This is not the first time we've dealt with disoriented hedgehogs, but we hope the prevention advice given will see a decrease in hedgehog food container related incidents," police said.
