Driver threads the needle between oncoming semi and car

Feb. 14 (UPI) -- A Russian driver had a lucky escape from disaster when he was able to squeeze between a semi truck and a car that wandered into his lane on an icy road.

The dashboard camera footage, filmed Feb. 7 in the Russian Republic of Karelia, shows the car pass a van on the left side before returning to its own lane.

A semi truck can be seen traveling toward the car in the opposite lane, and a car behind the semi comes into the oncoming lane to pass the truck.

The oncoming car fails to get out of the lane in time and ends up moving just far enough toward the shoulder to allow the dashcam owner to pass between the two oncoming vehicles.

The car then slips off the icy road and rolls, cracking the windshield, but the driver was not injured.
