Feb. 9 (UPI) -- A daring owl engaged a Minnesota police officer in a staring contest after landing on the front of his squad car.
Duluth police K-9 Officer Hurst shared a photo of the owl as it peered into the squad car from its perch on the front of the vehicle.
"This owl flew onto the hood of a squad car, after the officer was flagged down to check on it in the road," he said. "Happy to report it flew away!"
Officer Richard LeDoux responded to a report of an injured owl on a local road, when the bird in question landed on the car.
"They thought it had maybe been hit by car," he told the Duluth News Tribune.
The owl flew off after briefly greeting the officer, who said it was did not exhibit any signs of injury.
"It was there maybe a minute or so," LeDoux said. "It didn't seem to be in any hurry."
