Feb. 8 (UPI) -- A Louisiana fisherman captured video of his struggle with a small alligator that became entangled in his line when it tried to "attack" his lure.

The video, filmed by the fisherman's friend and posted to YouTube by Country Mile Outdoors, shows the small alligator trying to flee with the angler's line wrapped around its leg next to a river in Akers.

The fisherman, who said the reptile became snared when it tried to "attack" his lure, used a stick to push the gator's mouth closed before grabbing it with both hands and unwrapping the line from its leg.

The man then carried the small gator to the shore and tossed it into the water.
