"I was cashing out and I heard a lot of commotion and people yelling," eyewitness Melissa Sands told York Dispatch. "I heard someone say, 'There's a deer in the store!' The next thing you know, the deer came running by the cash registers...and turned and went down toward the dairy section."
The incident was resolved in a matter of minutes as a group of customers arrived to cover the deer's eyes with a cloth and help carry the animal out of the store.
Two other deer were seen including one that ran into the window of the nearby Smoker's outlet but caused no damage and another that ran toward the field.
All three deer left the area before police arrived on the scene.
"They didn't hang around to be questioned," Northeastern Regional Police Chief Bryan Rizzo told the York Daily Record.
