Owl rescued from soccer net in South Dakota

Feb. 7 (UPI) -- A South Dakota man was filmed rescuing an owl that somehow got itself entangled in a mesh soccer goal.

The video, recorded Jan. 27, shows the man carefully examining the owl after it apparently flew into the net in the town of Kennebec and become stuck.

The rescuer manages to get the owl to where only a single wing is still caught in the goal, but the bird is unable to free itself.

The man ends up cutting through the net to free the owl, which quickly flew away without any signs of injury.
