Lion attempts to make a meal out of photographer's GoPro

Jan. 27 (UPI) -- A lion at a South African game reserve offered a video camera an unusual angle when he attempted to make a meal out of the device.

The video shows a lion at the Mala Mala Game Reserve approach the GoPro camera, which the photographer said had been set up on the ground in the hopes of capturing footage of four male lions on territorial patrol in the area.

"I drove up the road ahead of them and positioned my GoPro on the road to get a ground level shot of all four lions walking," the photographer wrote. "However, the first male had other ideas."

The video shows the lion pick the camera up in its jaws, where the photographer said it remained for some time.

"He picked it up and only discarded it a sloppy 20 minutes later," she wrote.
