Bison herd blocks family's car on road through Yellowstone

Jan. 27 (UPI) -- A couple driving through Yellowstone National Park came up against an unusual obstacle -- a herd of bison loitering in the road.

The video, recorded earlier this month, shows the couple's vehicle approach the bison, which show no sign of moving out of the road.

"I think we've got to just let them pass, or get to the side," the man says uncertainly. "I don't know what to do."

The woman continues to drive, causing an argument about whether they should stop the car or try to drive slowly through the bison family.

The woman is forced to come to a stop when the bison in her path refuse to move.

The animals eventually leave a large enough gap to allow the car to go around them.
