Jan. 19 (UPI) -- A pair of adventurous cats in Washington gained viral fame after one took a sled trip down a local mountain with his owner.

Professional photographer Jesse Smith shared video of him careening down a Chehalis mountain with his six-month-old cat Weston perched on his shoulder.

"Let's hope we don't wipe out, buddy. Hang on man!" Smith exclaimed.

Smith and his wife Ashley adopted Weston and his sister Ellinore a year ago and have chronicled their various outdoor adventures through social media.

"When we first got them we knew we wanted to take them out," he told Q13. "We had them socializing with anything and anybody."

Inspired by other adventure-loving felines on adventurecats.org Smith bought Ellinore and Weston harnesses and took them along for hikes and other outdoor activities.

The two cats took quickly to the adventurous lifestyle and eventually began leading the expeditions themselves.

"There's typically a warm up period when we take them out," Smith said. "But they're really good. They just lead and we follow."
