Jan. 18 (UPI) -- A South Australia snake catcher responding to a report of a venomous eastern brown snake found the serpent feasting on an unusual animal -- a magpie.

Ange Broadstock of Snake Catchers Adelaide responded Tuesday to a Netherby home where a resident reported spotting an eastern brown snake, one of the most venomous varieties in Australia, eating a bird next to the house.

Broadstock posted a video to Facebook showing her interrupting the snake as it feasts on a vanquished Murray magpie.

The catcher said its unusual to find eastern brown snakes eating birds, which are normally out of reach for the serpents.

"It's not every day we see an eastern brown eating a bird," she wrote.
