MANDALA WISATA WENARA WANA, Indonesia, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- A British woman visiting Indonesia learned a valuable lesson about trying to fool monkeys with an empty banana peel when one of the simians jumped on her back.

Model Sophie Longford appears in a video posted to Instagram by Justin Etzin attempting to use a banana peel to get the attention of a baby monkey at the Mandala Wisata Wenara Wana reserve.

Longford fails to get the baby's attention; however, the empty peel draws the eye of a larger monkey that leaps onto her back.

"Get off," Longford says in a quiet, stunned voice as the monkey grabs the peel out of her hands and then throws it to the ground in disappointment.

"The lesson was don't try to fool a monkey with a banana you have already eaten!" Etzin wrote online.

Longford wrote it was her "first time meeting monkeys and definitely my last."
