"When you miss your stop and wake up in the 'Luas wash,'" Kelly tweeted.
Kelly said she had been recovering from a late Sunday night when she fell asleep on the train.
"Sure, I'd had a bit of a late night last night and was so exhausted on my way to work this morning," she told Independent.ie.
"I was only on the Luas a few minutes when I nodded off... The next thing I knew there was a banging on the window and I saw a Luas maintenance guy waving at me," she said. "I looked around and realized I was the only person left on the Luas and we were about to go through the Luas wash in the depot."
"Thankfully the driver was still on board and was able to let me out about 15 minutes later," Kelly said.
She said her boss was understanding about her reason for being late.
