VALATIE, N.Y., Jan. 3 (UPI) -- A New York state woman expecting toys for her popular reviewing blog said she opened a box to find something far less family friendly -- 7 pounds of marijuana.

Valatie resident Pamela Marks, who reviews a wide range of family-friendly products for her blog, MarksvilleAndMe.com, said something seemed immediately amiss Thursday when she opened a box from JAKKS Pacific, a California-based company that makes toy tie-ins for companies including Disney and Nintendo.

"First, I noticed it was two shoebox looking boxes wrapped in black plastic," Parks told WNYT-TV. "What looked to me to be green foam vacuum sealed into a container."

"I've never seen anything delivered like this," she said. "So I took the sharp object and started slitting one of the plastic containers and a big woof of skunk smell came out at me and I was like I knew right then and there that I had the wrong thing."

Marks contacted the Columbia County Sheriff's Department, which confirmed the mother-of-six's suspicions: the package contained about 7 pounds of marijuana.

"I've done tons of reviews, this is the first time that I have gotten a package like this; I was quite surprised," Marks told WRGB-TV. "It's very bizarre, anybody who knows me, knows I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't do drugs, so for me to get this package was totally one in a million."

The Columbia County Sheriff's Department seized the marijuana and the incident is under investigation.
