KARUMBA, Australia, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Police in Australia constructed a wall of hay to contain a large crocodile found wandering around a local backyard.
The 11-foot long crocodile wandered through the streets of a Karumba neighborhood and basked in the sun in a resident's back yard for several hours before deciding to move to the front of the house, according to Queensland Police.
Residents attempted to funnel the massive croc back toward the water using a barrier made of garbage bins but the reptile refused to move.
"It became clear he wasn't keen to move," police said. "Perhaps due to a broken navi-gator?"
Police eventually arrived on the scene and decided to fully surround the crocodile with a barrier made of hay until wildlife experts arrived to relocate it and put an end to the New Years Eve ordeal.
