NEW YORK, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- A New York Uber driver's dashboard camera video purports to show him hitting 236 consecutive green lights before stopping at a red.
Noah Forman posted a video to YouTube showing his 26-minute Manhattan drive in the early morning hours Dec. 6, hitting 236 green traffic lights before being stopped by a red light.
A friend posted a condensed version of the video, edited down to just over 4 minutes, on Vimeo.
Forman, who became a cab driver in 2005 before turning to Uber, said the same friend got him interested in green light runs a few years ago and encouraged him on a 186 green light streak a few years ago, which he said was unofficially a borough record.
Forman's latest feat bested his own record by nearly 60 lights.
"Every now and then, I feel lucky and I give it an attempt, but this night I could tell right from the beginning it looked good," Forman told the New York Daily News.
"It seems like you go with where the lights take you," Forman said. "The minute I think too hard and I veer off course... I just get hit with a red light somewhere."
The driver said his new goal is to double his current record.
"I would love to take it further," he said. "Not any time soon. Maybe in a year or two, see if I could get 500."
