AURORA, Colo., Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Animal control officers in Colorado rescued an unusually festive deer found with his head and antlers wrapped in colorful Christmas lights.

Arapahoe County tweeted a photo Tuesday showing the buck with a tangle of Christmas lights wrapped around his antlers, head and neck.

The county said animal control officers were able to untangle the deer and send him on his merry way.

"Oh deer, Santa left a reindeer behind! This deer was reported in Aurora & Animal Control freed him from the lights. He walked away safely!" the county tweeted.
