FORT MCMURRAY, Alberta, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- A Canadian man attempting to launch a drone in his back yard ran afoul of his family dog, which suddenly slapped the device out of the air.

A video posted to YouTube by user mig399, shows the man preparing the launch a quadcopter drone in his Fort McMurray, Alberta, back yard on Christmas Day.

The drone, which emits a pink light, gets only inches off the ground before the family dog runs into the back yard, jumps into the air, and uses its mouth to throw the drone back to the ground.

"He's OK, not hurt. He's lucky though. Those blades can cut really bad. He wasn't injured," the video's description reads. "No damage to the drone, it fell on soft snow."
