CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla., Dec. 23 (UPI) -- A deep sea fishing charter company in Florida said a 14-foot great white shark was caught accidentally while swimming at an unusual depth.

The Orlando Princess & Canaveral Princess Deep Sea Fishing charter company said in a Facebook post the 14-foot shark was caught by an angler aboard the Canaveral Princess Monday.

The post said the shark "broke off at the surface and put up a nice fight!"

The company said the shark catch was unexpected due to the depth where the anglers were casting their lines.

"It was not boarded on the boat and we were not intentionally fishing for it as we were fishing in 100 feet of water and would have never guessed this is what would have been reeled up!! The crew & captain did a great job and this great white swam away un-injured!" the Facebook post said.
