Manatees approach transparent canoe off Florida coast

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Dec. 21 (UPI) -- A Florida boater in a transparent canoe captured video of an encounter with a group of manatees, including one particularly curious young sea cow.

The video, posted to Facebook by See-Through Canoe, shows a worker for the company taking a trip in one of the titular See-Through Canoes off the coast of St. Petersburg.

The unusual boat catches the attention of manatees that approach the sides and bottom of the transparent vessel at different times.

The uploader said one of the young manatees became particularly curious about the canoe and followed along for more than 10 minutes.
