Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe BERNARDSVILLE, N.J., Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Firefighters in New Jersey rescued a deer that fell through the ice of a frozen pond while fleeing from an aggressive dog. The Bernardsville Fire Company said in a Facebook post that firefighters responded Sunday with crews from the Peapack-Gladstone Fire Department to a pond in Bernardsville. Advertisement A resident of a nearby home reported a deer had fallen through the ice after being chased by a dog. The fire company said the dog was gone by the time firefighters arrived and they were able to rescue the animal thanks to Peapack-Gladstone's ice rescue team.
