LAWRENCE, Ind., Dec. 16 (UPI) -- An Indiana woman paid tribute to late musician Prince and the coming Christmas holiday with a "Princemas tree" that took the Internet by storm.

Lish Laynette posted photos to Facebook showing her Christmas tree, which she decided to turn into a "Princemas tree" in tribute to His Royal Badness, who was one of many beloved celebrities to die in 2016.

The tree bears purple lights, The Purple One's face at the top, and Prince-themed ornaments throughout.

A video Laynette posted to YouTube shows the tree set to Prince's hit, "When Doves Cry."

Laynette wrote in the video's description that she didn't expect the tree to go viral.

"The reason I put the tree up is because holidays are getting rough for me as I've lost a lot of dear people in such a short time....as you grow older and lose people holidays (life in general) can be tough for anyone. I figured maybe buying a tree would help ward off the depression I felt coming. Making it a Prince themed tree was a last minute joke/decision but looking at it makes me laugh every day (he looks so mean lol)...I'm going to do a musical tree every year now as music brings me great joy."
