KANANASKIS, Alberta, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- Parks officials in Alberta are warning visitors to be on the lookout for an unusual wildlife hazard -- car-licking moose prowling the parking lots.
Alberta Parks posted an advisory notice on its website warning visitors to Peter Lougheed Provincial Park in Kananaskis to be on the lookout for moose spotted "approaching vehicles in the parking lots to lick salt from the side of the vehicle."
The notice recommended people keep a 100-foot distance from any moose they see in the park.
"Sound a car horn or use your remote door alarm to deter moose to regain access into your vehicle. Do not attempt to push moose away from your vehicle while on foot," the notice reads.
The notice asked any park visitors who encounter aggressive moose to report the incident to officials.
