Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe SHEDIAC, New Brunswick, Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Firefighters in New Brunswick braved a treacherous icy river to rescue a moose that became stranded after partially falling through the ice. The Shediac Fire Department posted a video to Facebook showing firefighters walking out on the ice of the Shediac River and carefully working to steer the stranded moose back toward shore. Advertisement The video, recorded Saturday, shows firefighters using sledge hammers to break up the ice and create a path for the moose to wade back to shore without having to climb back onto the ice. "The moose was successfully led to shore," the department said.
