POIPU, Hawaii, Dec. 5 (UPI) -- A paddleboarder in Hawaii was treated to an up-close show by a pod of humpback whales that decided to investigate the human visitor.

A video posted to Facebook by aerial photographer Uheheu shows drone camera footage of a paddleboarder off the coast of Poipu, Hawaii.

The paddleboarder catches the attention of some nearby humpback whales, which approach the surface to investigate the interloper.

One of the whales swims especially close to the paddleboarder, passing close to the surface directly underneath the astonished tourist.

"What would you do?" the Facebook post asks.
