QUEENSLAND, Australia, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Snake catchers in Australia were called out to a local residence after a snake was discovered underneath a couch near children's toys.

Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 shared a photo of the Coastal Carpet Python as it hid beneath a couch among plastic cars and other toys.

"We were called out early yesterday morning to relocate a large Coastal Carpet Python that had been spotted hiding beneath a couch amongst some kids toys," Snake catcher Lockie said.

The snake catchers clarified Coastal Carpet Pythons are non-venomous, but 95 percent of snake bites occur when untrained people attempt to catch or kill snakes.

"Luckily, we were able to safely relocate this gentle fella before any accidents happened," Lockie said.
