DAYTON, Ohio, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- A pair of Ohio newlyweds whose path to their wedding reception was blocked by a traffic jam had their first dance in the middle of a highway.

Jeff and Rebecca Payne were en route to their reception Saturday night in Dayton when a collision on Route 35 brought traffic to a standstill.

The couple, who were traveling with videographer Levi Curby, got out of their car and had their first dance to Alison Krauss' "When You Say Nothing At All."

"I think there were some tears at first but no meltdowns," Curby told Inside Edition. "They were two sports, they handled the whole thing so well. They did great. The dance turned it into a party."

Curby said the incident made the Paynes' nuptials "the most exciting wedding" he's worked.
