LAS VEGAS, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- A Las Vegas man whose neighborhood has been repeatedly targeted by package thieves tricked a pair of men into taking a "bait package" filled with dog poop.

Eric Snow said he decided to take action after numerous packages were stolen from his neighborhood in the area around Jones and Sahara.

"It's just gotten to the point it's getting worse," Snow told KSNV-TV. "We decided to put out the bait package."

The package, stuffed with "reprocessed dog chow" from the rear-end of Snow's 95-pound German shepherd, Heidi, was snatched from Snow's porch. Security camera footage shows two men in a green car pull up Saturday afternoon and make off with the box filled with a smelly surprise.

"I thought it was hilarious," neighbor Sandra Goodwin said. "Hopefully these people will realize that we're tired of them."

Homeowners targeted by package thieves have frequently put out such "bait packages" filled with unpleasant items including dog poop and used kitty litter.
