NITEROI, Brazil, Nov. 23 (UPI) -- A visitor to a Brazilian beach captured the moment a group of swimmers banded together to rescue a dolphin stranded in the sand.

The video, posted to Instagram by Lucas Oliveira, shows a group of beach-goers splashing water on the dolphin after it became beached Tuesday on Itacoatiara beach in Niteroi.

A group of men work to push and pull the dolphin out into deeper waters, where they try to point it in the right direction to swim back out to sea.

The dolphin is able to swim away on its own, but seems to stay in the shallow area of the beach, risking a potential second beaching.
