ANNANDALE, N.J., Nov. 23 (UPI) -- A baby goat born without hooves found friendship in a blind goat after being adopted by a rescue shelter in New Jersey.

Goats of Anarchy shared a photo of the newborn goat named Pocket who came to the rescue group about a week after he was born.

"My name is Pocket, newest member of GOA," the group wrote in a Facebook post. "I was born on Sunday and I only weigh about 2 pounds. I was born without any back hooves, just two little perfect stumps so my new mom is going to get me some new feet in a few months!"

Goats of Anarchy founder Leanne Lauricella drove to pick up the the newborn goat after seeing a post about him on Facebook and contacting his owners.

"They agreed to give him to me," she told the Dodo. "So I drove to Virginia to pick him up."

Lauricella eventually fitted Pocket's back legs with pipe insulators wrapped in medical tape to act as makeshift prosthetics.

"He has to have something," she said. "He's a baby, so he wants to be running around and playing. So he has to have everything covered and padded, just to protect those stumps, basically."

Upon arriving in New Jersey, Pocket quickly formed a loving bond with Polly, a blind goat suffering from nervousness and other neurological issues.

"Polly and Pocket have a calming effect on each other," Lauricella wrote in a Facebook post showing the two goats cuddling together. "It was truly meant to be."

The two have been inseparable since arriving at Goats of Anarchy and Lauricella hopes they will continue to look after each other as their treatment continues.

"When they move outside in the spring, I'm hoping that Pocket will be Polly's seeing-eye goat," she said.
