WICHITA, Kan., Nov. 18 (UPI) -- A Kansas driver's dashboard camera captured a tow truck driver's lucky escape from injury when his vehicle was hit by a train.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office said the tow truck was one of two working to clean up the scene of a four-car crash about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at an intersection in Wichita when the train came through the road.

"Clearly, one of the tow trucks ended up being too close to the railroad tracks as the train was coming through. It struck the rear of that tow truck," sheriff's Capt. Mark Pierce told KSN-TV.

The tow truck driver avoided injury in the crash, and the train was able to stop about a quarter mile down the road. Authorities said the railroad had been notified of the crash scene, but was unable to get word to the train in enough time to stop it before reaching the intersection.
