PORCUPINE WILDERNESS MOUNTAINS STATE PARK, Mich., Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Officials at a state park in Michigan's Upper Peninsula shared photos of the aftermath of a large bear's brutal attack on an innocent picnic table.

The Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park -- aka "The Porkies" -- shared a photo on Facebook of a picnic table bearing multiple claw marks and two large chunks missing from its attached bench.

"This picnic table had a close encounter with a sizeable bear! Notice the claw marks? He must have not liked where we put the table! It is near the Log Camp winter warming shelter," the post said.

Bear sightings are a frequent occurrence in the 60,000-acre state park.
