ROBERTSON, Australia, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- A koala attempting to take a nap in a New South Wales tree was foiled by a noisy currawong bird that refused to leave it alone.

A video posted to YouTube by Phil Harrison shows the koala getting cozy in the tree on Mount Murray and attempting to take a nap, but being repeatedly roused by the magpie-like bird.

The koala repeatedly swats at the currawong as it lets out loud calls right next to the marsupial and pecks at its fur -- an act one commenter suggested could have been an attempt to gather nest-building materials.

The currawong appears to finally leave the koala to sleep in peace at the end of the video.

Harrison said his own heavy breathing can be heard in the video because he had just sprinted to his car to retrieve his camera and film the wildlife dispute.
