Grandma's attempt to put baby to bed goes spectacularly awry

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Nov. 16 (UPI) -- An Alabama grandmother is gaining viral fame after her attempt to put a baby to bed went spectacularly awry and was caught on baby monitor camera.

Nikki Sharp Bishop posted a video to Facebook showing her mother, Valerie Routh Sharp, using a small step stool to reach over the side of her grandson's crib in an attempt to put the sleeping youngster down for the night.

The reach proves to be difficult for the grandmother, who was described as "vertically challenged" by her daughter, and the woman ends up plunging head-first into the crib with the child still in her arms.

Neither party suffered any injuries from the fall, but the baby was left wide-awake after grandma climbed back out of the crib.

"My mom is going to kill me but I had to post. For those of you who don't know my mom she is 5ft and has always been vertically challenged. I love this crazy woman!" Bishop wrote.
