Connecticut state trooper rescues owl from highway

MIDDLETOWN, Conn., Nov. 16 (UPI) -- An injured owl was rescued from the side of a road in Connecticut after being discovered by a state trooper.

Connecticut State Police shared photos of the wounded owl as the patrol trooper responded to rescue it from Route 15.

An officer from Woodbridge Animal Control Officer arrived at the scene to assist in the rescue and transported the owl to an animal hospital for treatment.

Officials told NBC Connecticut the owl suffered an eye injury and was taken to District Animal Control.

The owl will continue its treatment at a Place Called Hope raptor rescue, rehabilitation and education center.
